- Reserve the lift. Most Cyprus buildings have one. Tell the building manager you're moving on X day so neighbours don't fight you for it.
- Measure the lift opening, not just the cabin. Sofas die at the door.
- Protect the lift walls with cardboard or blankets — many buildings will charge you for marks.
- Check stairwell turns. A 90° landing decides whether your wardrobe arrives in one piece or two.
- Book parking in advance for the van. In Limassol and Nicosia centre you may need a municipal permit.
- Tell your neighbours the day before. A €5 box of sweets prevents an hour of complaints.
- Disassemble beds and wardrobes in the old apartment, not the corridor. Corridors get blocked fast.
- Label by room AND by priority. "Kitchen — first night" goes in last so it comes out first.
- Empty the fridge two days before and defrost the freezer. Wet boxes are the #1 hidden disaster.
- Walk the empty apartment before handing back keys. Check above cupboards, behind doors, on the balcony. We find phones and passports in every other move.
