The Complete Moving Checklist for Cyprus (8-Week Plan)

8 weeks before

• Decide on your move date — avoid the last weekend of the month if you can (everyone moves then, prices and traffic peak).
• Get 2–3 quotes on WhatsApp. Look for fixed pricing, not hourly.
• Start a "donate / sell / bin" pile. Every kg you remove saves money.

6 weeks before

• Photograph every room from each corner — this protects you in disputes about damage.
• Tell your landlord / agency. In Cyprus most rentals need 30–60 days written notice.
• Order packing supplies (or have your mover bring them).

4 weeks before

• Change your address with EAC (electricity), CYTA / Cablenet / PrimeTel, water board and bank.
• Book parking permits if you live on a busy street in Nicosia or central Limassol.
• Begin packing rooms you rarely use — books, off-season clothes, decorations.

2 weeks before

• Confirm the move with your mover. Re-send pickup and drop-off addresses on WhatsApp.
• Defrost the freezer two days in advance.
• Pack a "first-night box": kettle, mugs, toilet paper, phone chargers, bedding.

Move day

• Walk the mover through the home before they start. Point out fragile and "do not move" items.
• Keep passports, documents and jewellery with you, not in the van.
• Do a final walk-through after loading — check every cupboard, balcony and storage room.
